It is finally here… after weeks of putting together a few minutes here and there. The Woofstock web site is finally launched. As always, please tell everyone you know about Woofstock2009, as all the proceeds for this event goes to charity. More of a cat person? Keep in mind, doggies and cats all benefit from this fund raiser, and not to mention the education and awareness to pet adoption. Be a Hero! -
The Animal House will be hosting an adoption clinic for Cookie, a young border collie/Boston Terrier mix, on Saturday, June 6th, from 10am-3pm. This petite little girl is wonderful with other dogs, and seems to be fine with cats. Cookie is a very sweet, affectionate girl and is looking for a forever home. Cookie is between one and two years old, is up-to-date on vaccinations and due to be spayed next week. Cookie currently weighs 31lbs., but could stand to put on some more weight. Please come by the store to say “hello” to Cookie. The Animal House, located at 372 Main Street in Damariscotta, features healthy supplies and food for dogs and cats. Maine Greyhound Placement Service of Augusta will be featured at The Animal House Adoption Center on Saturday, May 2nd from 11am-2pm. MGPS representatives will be available to answer questions about the breed and the adoption process, and will have information on the dogs available for adoption. Ever wanted to know what to do in case of a pet emergency? Instructor Gail Conley-Regan will return to The Animal House on Sunday, May 3rd, to teach her popular Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR class.
According to the Red Cross, …”the purpose of the course is to teach participants how to be prepared for emergencies that involve a cat and/or dog and how to protect themselves and the animal from further harm, injury, and suffering during emergencies by teaching prompt, effective first aid action and care.”
The Pet First Aid/CPR class fee is $45, and includes all materials, dvd’s, books and Certificate of Completion.
The class will be from 2:30-5pm and has a class limit of 12 students. Those interested must register in advance through The Animal House. Early registration is strongly recommended, as the class typically fills up several weeks in advance.

Abigail Strobbe, DVM will be available on Saturday, April 4th from 1-3pm for a Rabies Clinic at The Animal House. Dogs and cats on leash or in carriers are welcome. Each rabies vaccination is $10. Dr. Strobbe has requested that families bring any previous rabies vaccination documentation to prevent over-vaccination, if the records are available. No appointment is necessary.All grooming, Self-Service and Full-Service will be closed an hour before and after the event.
